Visiting the Center
By Car:
From the North (St Louis)
1. Take 67 South to Farmington

2. Take Acadia Valley sign exit
3. Turn Right onto Hwy W. Follow it to a stop sign and turn
Left onto 221 Follow this til you Turn Right at State
Hwy AA
4. Follow AA (go 5mi)(It becomes County 204)
5. The mailbox is on the Right side (BOX 8218 —-> and
the driveway is on the left.
From the East (Cape Girardeau)
1. Take 72 to Ironton
2. In Ironton the road will curve around and stop, at
this point turn Right onto Home Street.
3. Follow Home St. one block to stop sign & turn Right
onto 21. go about 13 miles.
4. Turn Right onto AA ( there is a sign for Taum Sauk
Pump Storage Power Plant)”
5. Follow AA/204 for 5 miles.
6. The mailbox is on the Right (BOX 8218 and the
driveway is on the left)
From the South (Centreville)
1. Make your way on Rt 60 to Centreville Continue on 21
to Lesterville
2. As you pass through this tiny town you will cross a
bridge and see the log cabin inn on the left. Just
beyond that is a sign for Taum Sauk Lake on the left.
This is “U”
3. Turn Left onto “U”
4. Follow U 7 Miles and bear Right where the trucks line
up for entering the power plant project at the stop
sign. Continue right and go three miles.
5. The mailbox is on the Left . BOX 8218 and the
driveway is on the right ~ it’s a tight turn from this
Direction. Aim for the purple mark on the tree! .
From the West (Joplin)
1. Come on east 44 (appx 144mi)
2. Take exit #169 for MO-J
3. Turn Right on J (go 8 mi)
4. Turn Left on M (go 11mi)
5. Turn Right at US 63 (go .8mi)
6. Turn left at Broadway St/MO-H (go 7.8mi)
7. Turn Right at MO-“C” (go 420 ft).
8. Turn Left at MO-“H” (go 11.4 mi)
9. Turn Right on MO-“72” (go 0.2 mi)
10. Turn Left at MO-32/MO-72 and continue to follow
MO-32 for 33.7 miles.
11. Turn Right at MO-49 (14.6 mi)
12. Turn Left at MO-49 and go 9.6 miles passing through
Centerville and through Lesterville.
13. Turn Left at County road “U”
14. Follow U 7 Miles and bear Right onto AA.
15. Follow “U “ for 7 Miles to the stop sign where the
trucks line up to enter the Dam Project.
16. Bare right and follow County Rd. 204, for three
miles to the mailbox. This white mailbox will be on the
Left. the number 8218 is on it. The driveway is on the
Right ~ it’s a VERY tight turn from this direction.

AIRPORT--
UPON ARRIVAL YOUR TRANSPORT FROM AIRPORT TO THE CENTER
Please try to set up flights to arrive in at Louis by 11
AM
Monday Through Friday, When you arrive
at Lambert Field Airport, after going to the baggage
area, you need to then go to the METROLINK train and
ride to the CIVIC CENTER STATION. The Greyhound Bus
Terminal Station is right there beside you. Walk to the
station and pick up your SMTS shuttle service ticket at
the shuttle and then it leaves every day at 1 PM and
takes you to Farmington at 3:30PM
DSMC staff will pick you up in Farmington and carry you
back to the center.
For this SMTS ROUTE Cash or Credit card are accepted
Purchase tickets at the vehicle or at the Farmington
departure point which is

Please set up flights after 1:30 PM when you leave.

Airport:
Two ways!
Route 1.
Monday through Friday there is a ride
on the SMTS from Farmington to the Airport.
The shuttle arrives at one location which is
the Greyhound Bus Terminal,
the Amtrak Station
and the metrolink that transports you to the LAMBERT
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.
DEPARTS at 9 AM from 400 N. Washington St. in
Farmington, MO
ARRIVES at 11 AM to the Greyhound Bus Terminal
Cost is $30.00 (one way)
IF you leave from FARMINGTON, you may pay by cash or
credit card.
Route 2.
There is a second choice for your return trip to the
AIRPORT that is only 15 minutes from the center.
On
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, you
may board the Regular SMTS shuttle at the McDonalds in
Ironton.
DEPARTS at 7AM from the McDonalds in Ironton
ARRIVES directly to the airport at 12 NOON.
Cost is $15.00 (one way) you MUST PAY BY CASH ONLY on
this route.
The center wishes to strongly support this shuttle
SYSTEM and you are encouraged to make a further
contribution to this Shuttle for it’s continued
development if possible.
